Severe bleeding can become fatal in just a matter of minutes—often before emergency responders can arrive. Guardian Training Center's Stop the Bleed course teaches everyday citizens the lifesaving skills needed to recognize and control life-threatening bleeding during emergencies.

Whether the injury results from a vehicle crash, workplace accident, hunting incident, natural disaster, or an act of violence, knowing how to stop severe bleeding can save the life of a loved one, coworker, or even a stranger.

This hands-on course provides practical medical training using proven techniques and real-world scenarios, giving students the confidence to act when every second counts.

Course Topics

Throughout this course, students will learn:

• How to recognize life-threatening bleeding

• Priorities of emergency trauma care

• Scene safety and patient assessment

• Proper use of commercial tourniquets

• Wound packing techniques

• Pressure dressing application

• Direct pressure techniques

• Junctional wound management

• Building and carrying an Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK)

• When and how to activate Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

• Practical hands-on medical scenarios

What to Bring

Students should bring:

• Comfortable clothing suitable for hands-on training

• Notebook and pen (optional)

• Water and snacks (optional)

All medical training equipment and supplies, including tourniquets and wound packing trainers, will be provided during class.
